Messrs. Butterfield Shire's s.s. "Fatshan" is now running with the aid of a subsidy from the Hong Kong Government, in order to avoid the cessation of sailings of British vessels under the Blunt-úkasaki agreement. Negotiations with the Japanese Consul-General regarding a cargo agreement will be resumed shortly, but prospects of a mutually satisfactory outcome are slight.
